History
Where the Russian Blue breed came from is said to be a mystery. What we do know is that they came from northern Russia in the Archangel Isles, and were brought to Europe by sailors in the 1860's. Rumor has it that this breed was favored by Queen Victoria and a decendant of the Royal Cat of Russian Zcars. During the early 1900's, Russian Blues became exceedingly popular, then when World War 2 broke out, the breed was nearly lost. In an attempt to save them, in the 1940's, breeders from around the globe came to mix the genes and get the Russian Blue back to its normal population.
